Byzantine Diplomacy Card Guide

"Silence your enemy with diplomacy" is the third pillar of the official Byzantine summary. As a game mechanic, diplomacy is the empire's denial tool — the ability to remove or mute a key enemy card's influence without fighting it on the board. Exact mechanics (targets, duration, cost) will be confirmed at launch.

Denial is a scarce resource in every card game, and the official framing suggests it is no different here. The discipline is target selection: silence the card that wins them the game, not the card that annoys you. Against Ottoman it is likely promotion payoffs; against China the Dragon Assault; against Austria the Coalition bind.

Diplomacy completes the Byzantine control triangle. Walls answer armies, fire answers boards, and diplomacy answers the single card your walls and fire cannot reach.
